What the desktop app adds
System-wide push to talk
Your key works even when Klang is minimized or you’re in a game.
Native notifications
Your system’s own, with a badge on the app icon and in the tray.
Choose what to share
A screen or a specific window, with its sound, from its own picker.
What you’re playing
Your friends see the game you have open. Turn it off in Privacy.
Always up to date
It updates itself when you open it. No hunting for new versions.
Installation questions
Windows warns me when I open the installer. Is that normal?
Yes. The Windows installer isn’t signed yet, so SmartScreen may warn you the first time. Click “More info” and then “Run anyway”. Later updates install themselves.
Does it work on Intel Macs?
The desktop app is for Macs with Apple Silicon. On an Intel Mac, use Klang in your browser: it has everything else.
How does it update?
By itself. When you open it, it looks for a new version, downloads it in the background and installs it when you restart. You can also check from the tray or from Settings.
Where are older versions?
Every published version is in the public releases repository.
Your people are one link away.
Create a server, share the invite and start talking. It’s that simple.
